Background
The tyrannical Empire, no longer content to remain in the far off continental mainland, has decided to stamp out piracy once and for all in the archipelagos and bring them under the iron fist of Imperial authority. The Imperial Navy has recently been spotted constructing small forts and landing troops of marines on previously unclaimed atolls on the outskirts of the ocean, presumably to use as a base of operations for further incursions into pirate waters.
Pirates everywhere are encouraged to head to an explorers' hall to obtain the expedition charts needed to harry and plunder these accursed Imperial outposts and ensure that free piracy will reign throughout the ocean.
Attacking an Imperial outpost
When buying a map from an explorers' hall, make sure you have ample charts around the island of purchase, because you cannot use an Imperial outpost map to take you to the outpost. A chart is used from the purchase island to an adjacent island as on a normal pillage, and then you can place the Imperial outpost map on the chart table, and the attack will appear as an expedition in the Ahoy! tab of the sunshine widget, allowing officers with the correct permissions to order the attack when the league point is reached. The outposts do not stray from normal chart league points.
Types
Imperial outposts come in 4 different sizes (small, medium, large and huge), 3 different fortification levels (fledgling, established and fortified) and either sinking or non-sinking. A map to an Imperial outpost indicates what combination of features it has. All Imperial outpost maps degrade in 3 days and are lost after a successful expedition.
Player vessels sunk in a sinking Imperial outpost are permanently lost. No injuries are unique to this expedition.

About Yohoho!
Yohoho! has unique, fun gameplay based on a combination of persistent MUD-style online games and fun puzzle games! While you can explore and interact with your character, when you accept a challenge, you launch a themed Puzzle game. For example, if you accept a Pirate's challenge to a swordfight, you'll both pop up the Swordfighting puzzle and go head to head! When your opponent clears blocks to strike a blow, pieces rain down on your board!
There are a large variety of Puzzles to enjoy, both competitive—such as Swordfighting—and more relaxing, for example Drinking. In addition, when you sail vessels in Yohoho!, each Pirate takes up a Duty station with an associated Puzzle—for example, Sailing, Navigation, or Bilge-pumping.
What you won't find in Yohoho! is repetitively hitting a key, having to kill the same poor beast over and over again to go up a 'level'. We don't have numbered levels, and we don't have 'experience points'. Although we will have some monsters in the future, they are the rare and dangerous guardians of exotic Treasure Islands. Of course, these monsters too will be defeated by skilled Puzzling by you and your fellow Crewmates.

We noticed that with the new colors added to the game, we could give out a different color of familiar every two weeks and not repeat ourselves right through the year! So that's what we plan on doing.
In each two weeks, there will be at least one colored familiar given out - most of these are likely to be tournaments or puzzle competitions. There will be other events included as well. Monkeys will only be used where it's an available color. For parrots, we will match either one or both of the parrot colors to the week's color.
We will use this thread to announce the colored familiar events as we go through the weeks, so you know where to look for the next colored familiar event. We hope to cover a good mixture of tournament and competition puzzles. Additional tournaments and competitions for tan familiar prizes will continue. This set-up doesn't preclude other colored familiars being awarded for forum or in-game events or auctions.
And, of course, if the process or the thread doesn't seem to be working, we'll make any required changes.

Puzzle Pirates is an open-ended multi-player game played by thousands of people from around the globe each day.
In Puzzle Pirates, you take on the role of a Pirate. After creating your Pirate, you are free to travel from Island to Island around the Ocean, earning your keep as a sailor and buccaneer. You can use your wealth to buy yourself a ship, fill out your wardrobe, or even become a merchant yourself. There is almost no limit to what you can do!
Uniquely among massively multi-player games, many of the aspects of the Puzzle Pirates world are based on playing fun, engaging Puzzles. For example, sword fighting between players is an interactive Puzzle; the different aspects of maintaining your pirate ship are each solo puzzles; sailing the ship in battle is a strategic puzzle you play against other players. As a result, the game will always present you with new and interesting challenges: You are never limited by the level of your character, only by your skill at each of our 20 puzzles!
The Puzzle Pirates world is made up of varied islands, each linked to the next by dangerous sea lanes. Each ship sailing from island to island is crewed by players working together cooperatively to earn their fortune. While out adventuring, players can face attack from roaming brigands, hunt for treasure, dare to sail to haunted sea monster realms, or even make plans to conquer their very own island. The game provides entertainment for players of all ages, from simple puzzling fun all the way to the complexities of battles involving hundreds of ships.
